Poll Result Advice - His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Bangalore (India), May 22:
Today, India has a new government. There are two pieces of advice for the new government:
First, advice for those who won. They should think that ‘We won, people have trusted us. So, we should be humble.’ Increase humility. See those who lost with love. Sympathize with them. When a war is fought, it's a different situation: you fight. But when the war is over, the situation becomes different. Embrace the enemy. Start the process of healing wounds.
Now, advice for those who lost. When you lose, what you want doesn’t happen. Then many vikalpas (choices) arise.

Frustration
Depression
Anger

These three vikalpas stop you from going on the right path, they cause harm to you.
The fourth vikalpa is that, ‘This is the Lord's wish.’ This way, we get over the bad feelings, and get on with productive work. Calm your mind, and engage yourself in something constructive. There is little progress if you go into depression. There is progress neither in the Self, nor in society.
The party that lost should think, ‘We tried our best, but what had to happen, happened.’
"Karmanye va dhikaraste ma faleshu kadachana" – Do your duty, without expecting the fruits of your actions. Accept whatever fruit you get - this surrender to the past is true surrender. True surrender to God is not offering fruits, and garlands. Surrendering the garbage of the past to God is real surrender. God transforms this garbage into flowers, and fruits.
So, don't be angry with the past, and don't go into depression. There is no point in hate, and no point in doing nothing. The sign of intelligence is to surrender and move ahead.
This happens in every country. There is war, victory and defeat.
The people who win should show more humility, and be more respectful. They should believe: ‘The other party lost in order to give us happiness.’ If they think like this, then they won't humiliate the happiness-giver, and will respect the defeated.
God knows whom to put where. Accept God's decision. This is how people should think. Victory, and defeat are part of life. Recognizing this pattern, and rising above it, is the sign of an evolved human being.
- His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Q&A with Bawa on Utsav

This QnA session took place after midnight. After playing a board game since bau's right nostril was working, he decided to sit and have a chat... First he asked all of us, which of our nostril is working ? Right indicates that you would be awake, left means you are going to sleep !

Q) When we are working towards achieving a target, how do handle the feverishness ?

A) Give your 100% and let go. Better still…. First let go and then continue putting your effort.

Q) My mind gets effected because of other people's words and actions.

A) Its normal to be affected… 5 – 10 minutes is ok, 2-3 days is too much. If someone throws a stone in a pond, there are ripples. Even if it is a still pond, there are ripples… But the question is how long it takes for the ripples to fade away.

Q) Sometimes, parents and other factors don't allow us to do seva. How to handle ?

A) There are various ways of doing seva… Doing business, studies or even washing your own plate is a seva… If you are a successful businessman, then many people will listen to you… then they'll come to the course because you told them to…

Q) What is your opinion of Osho ? have you read his books ?

A) No opinion. I don't know anything about him. I am still not done reading Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's books. Respect all follow one. All schools teach you the same syllabus and give you the same certificate, but you go to only one school. All boats cross the river, but you travel only in one boat.

Q) How to draw the line in your business so that it becomes seva…

A) If you are doing business for yourself, then it is not seva. But if you are doing it for guruji, then everything is seva…

Q) What is the difference between ego and self respect?

A) Ego divides, self respect unites… Ego separates, self respect brings together… In ego, you don't love yourself, when you love yourself that is self respect…

Q) I get lot of thoughts during short sudarshan kriya. What to do ?

A) Thats ok. Let the thoughts do their job, you do your job.

Q) During long sudarshan kriya guruji says, 'don't sleep, don't meditate'. But if the whole point of sudarshan kriya is to help us meditate, then why does he say that ?

A) Sudarshan kriya is a cleansing process. It cleanses you and gets you in a meditative state. If you put harpic in the toilet, you first put it, and then wait and only then flush, right?

    Q. What is the purpose of this blog?

    A. This blog has been hosted to:

    1. Market and publicize UTSAV and AOL.

    2. Help volunteers and participants get all possible information about Utsav, which is often scattered between various people, and miscommunication happens because of that.

    3. Facilitate easy communication between all Utsav coordinators and enable them to help each other with various resources, suggestions, information which otherwise becomes very difficult given that there are more than 100 people in the team (and that too just for YES+ part of Utsav), and all of them can't communicate with all others.
Just post here what you have to say or want to say, with your possible contact details and everyone can read that and contact you back.

    How you can contribute?

    Jai Gurudev
Utsav is such a mega scale event that it needs contribution from all of you. It doesnt matter what resources you have or do not have. You should have a strong will in mind, and by HIS grace, you can accomplish anything.

You for one, can contribute in the following ways:
    1. Be a volunteer for Utsav. (This is primarily for those who have done YES!+ and YES!+ DSN course.
    2. Get sponsorship. Being a giga-mega-gala event, Utsav is not possible without corporate sponsorship. So make your best efforts. Sponsorship details shall soon be uploaded.
    3. Get registrations. Getting 2,000 people needs help of all of you. Everyone should get atleast 50 registrations each, which should not be difficult, given so many attractions,
    • Whole YES+ course in just 4 days, with Saturday and Sunday being a holiday.
    • All this in very little investment of Rs 650.

    For your Information.

    A) Is this Government really protecting us??!!

    7/11 2006: Mumbai Train Blasts. 209 Killed.
    25/8 2007: Hyderbad Blasts: 42 Killed
    Oct 11 2007: Ajmer Blasts : 2 Killed
    May 13 2008: Jaipur Blasts : 68 Killed
    July 16th 2008: Ahmedabad Blasts : 57 Killed
    July 25th 2008: Banglaore Blasts: 1 killed
    Sept 13th 2008: Delhi Blasts: 26 Killed
    Sept 27th 2008: Delhi Blasts: 2 Killed
    Sept 29th 2008 : Gujrat Blasts : 1 killed
    Oct 21st 2008: Imphal Blasts : 17 Killed
    Oct 30th 2008: Assam Blasts : 40 Killed
    Nov 26th 2008: Mumbai Attack: 180 killed

Every major city in India has been attacked consistently over the last
    two years.
Since 2004, 3850 Indians have died in Terror attacks in over 3000 incidents.
Is the common Indian on the streets really safe?

Did you know that on the day of the Mumbai train blasts, the
Government gave Rs 150 crores for earthquake relief in Pakistan? Last
year our Govt. has given Rs 3000 crores (600 Million Dollars) to
Afghanistan? This, when victims of terror in India have not yet got
    aid? What's going on?

    B) Is this Government really secular?

    1) When Madrasas are being shut down in Pakistan, the Indian
Government is giving them CBSC status !! It is depriving Muslim
children in getting secular education. A Madrasa educated person can
get a job in any government office without going through the secular
education system. Can India afford to have fundamentalists in
government departments? Why cannot the government shut down Madrassas
and let Muslim children study with the rest?

    2) Our Government has given 25 lakh scholarships ONLY to minority students.
    • What sin have the majority done not to deserve these?
    • Why cannot poor students of all communities be given scholarships
    instead of only Muslim children?

    3) Thanks to the Congress led Government, out of 36000 temples in
Andhra Pradesh, 28000 have closed down in the last five years. Do you
want the same trend to continue in other parts of the country? Do you
want a Nagaland type of situation in the whole of India? While
government controls most of the Hindu temples, the minority community
has had full freedom to organize their religious bodies. The minority
communities now have the first right over resources. Is this not a
blatant violation of fundamental rights of the majority community?

    4) Why have the minorities in Nagaland, Mizoram & Kashmir not got the
similar privileges like the minorities in other states? Why is the
Govt following different rules for different religions?

    C) Is this government really making friends or enemies for India?

Thanks to a weak and visionless foreign policy, India has created
enemies all around. By the Home Minister's own admission: "India is
surrounded by a circle of fire". Rajiv Gandhi's vision of a
    powerful "SAARC" is now defunct.
    • Today, India commands little respect from all its neighbours,
despite being the largest democracy in the world.
    • Terrorism has engulfed the country from inside and outside. Of
course Pakistan, the motherland of international terrorism continues to
    be a big threat.
    • China has territorial ambitions on India.
    • Nepal, is now being headed by a Maoist government and is
ideologically more aligned to China. While India helped to dismantle
the dynastic rule in Nepal our own Government surreptitiously supports
dynastic rule within its own party.
    • Myanmar is increasingly aligning with Chinese forces with huge
    Chinese investments in that region.
    • Indian Policies in Srilanka have made Tamil Nadu burn. Will
Tamils ever forgive India for encouraging military assault rather than
facilitating peaceful dialogue on their north and north east regions.
    • Bangladesh continues to repeatedly aid and abet terrorism.

    D) Is this Government really pro-poor?

    • In the last five years, population below poverty line has
    increased from 3 to 5.5 %

    E) Does this Government really care about the nation?

    • The Pakistani flag is now being hoisted in five districts of
states like Assam where the Muslim population has gone up
significantly. 92000 Hindu and 6000 Christians are now languishing in
refugee camps. The government has turned a blind eye to this.

    • In the name of security, innocent people have been put in jails,
whereas people like Yaasin Malik who has 23 murder charges on him,
are moving Scot free and gathering their own strength. Is it
    acceptable to any patriotic Indian?

Can the Congress led UPA promise a non-muslim CM in J&K? Reservation
for a Hindu student in Nagaland? If so, we wholeheartedly support
them. Otherwise they should sit at home the next few years and rethink
    their policies.

Can our politicians stop stooping down to any lengths just for money
and power? Like Mr.Sharad Pawar, who first ditched the Congress and
then ditched the people and aligned back with the Congress, just to be
    in power.

Don't be deceived. What appears to be communal is not communal, and
what appears to be secular is not secular. It is time we change our
    thinking.

Having said all this even BJP has not proved to be any better.
But for now we need a change. Let us choose the lesser of the two evils.
The same party brought to power again and again means encouraging
    unabated corruption.

Stand up for this most tolerant and ancient civilization and prevent
this great nation from becoming a communal battleground. As citizens
of India we must vote for change.

WAKE UP INDIANS. LET US VOTE FOR CHANGE.
If u have stayed at any city for more than 6months u r eligible to vote.
